What will you do in this job?: This is a full-time, year-round role
in Whitefish, MT. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays the key
role as General Manager's "number two" and go-to support person.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service and
fostering a culture of hospitality.
- Engage with guests regularly, responding to concerns promptly
and implementing solutions to enhance satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of hospitality, encouraging team members to
"bring their best" selves to work.
- Oversee daily operations across all hotel departments to
maintain consistency, efficiency, and service excellence.
- Ensure adherence to brand standards, cleanliness, and safety
protocols in all areas of the operation.
- Regularly inspect all areas of the operation to ensure
cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee safety protocols and always maintain commitment to
workplace and guest safety.
- Assist in budget management, expense tracking, and implementing
revenue-driving initiatives.
- Oversee payroll and labor management, ensuring efficient
scheduling and cost control.
- Support the successful execution of group events and services,
ensuring seamless coordination between departments.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with the General
Manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as a problem solver and decision-maker, handling challenges
and special projects as needed.
- Support, train, and develop hotel department managers and
staff, ensuring a positive and motivated team environment.
- Manage staff onboarding, training, and performance, working
closely with People & Culture.
- Actively participate in staff engagement initiatives, including
housing management and employee events.
- Oversee employee housing assignments and inspections to
maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Set clear expectations, schedules, and follow-ups to align with
the hotel's mission and values. What skills and experience do you
need for this job?:
- 2+ years of hotel management experience in a full-service
property, overseeing multiple departments such as rooms, food &
beverage, and events.
- Proficiency with hotel management systems (PMS) and Food &
Beverage POS systems, with the ability to analyze reports and
optimize operations.
- Experience with payroll reporting systems and labor management
to ensure accurate staffing and cost control.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with a proven
ability to train, motivate, and support department managers and
staff.
- Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets,
controlling costs, and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a
hands-on approach to resolving guest and operational issues.
- Commitment to guest service excellence, with the ability to
foster a culture of hospitality, safety, and professionalism.
