Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Supervisor Title: CFAO

FSLA Status: Exempt

General Summary:

The Director of Human Resources will support the day to day needs of Washington Corporations. This function is responsible for recruiting, compliance, development and evaluation of employees, compensation and benefits as well as overall employee and labor relations. This person will manage a small team of 1 to 2 individuals.

The successful candidate will have the ability to implement successful HR solutions to the Washington Corporations employee base (approximately 160 employees), driving the organization to best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Washington Corporations HR (i.e. recruiting, employee relations, development, performance management, compensation and benefits, labor law compliance, etc.)
  • Develop Best Practices for Operating Companies
    • a. Evaluate and catalog standards
    • b. Collaborate with operating company HR teams to implement best practices
    • Labor Relations and Agreements
      • a. Knowledgeable about labor agreements in the operating companies
      • b. Monitor and summarize labor relations activity at the operating companies
      • Benefits
        • a. Oversight of the Washington Companies' domestic benefits
        • b. Management of third party service providers
        • c. Strategic advisor over the changing healthcare and benefits landscape
        • Industry and Functional Knowledge
          • a. Identifying industry trends and educating the operating company HR directors and Executive Leadership
          • b. Make assessments of HR trends that could be effectively adopted by the Washington Companies
          • Management of Incentive and Bonus Programs
            • a. Maintain documentation of incentive programs
            • b. Provide assessments for incentive programs
            • c. Monitor effectiveness of the programs and communicate needed changes, as necessary
            • Employee Relations
              • a. Identify best practices for base pay and incentive packages
              • b. Make assessments and recommendations for employee relations improvements
                • Conduit to the President
                  • a. Primary advisor to the President on HR matters
                  • b. Utilize technology to compile enterprise data to identify trends and patterns
                  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
                  • Any other duties as assigned
                    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
                    • Ability to move projects forward using their team or by being self-sufficient
                    • Efficiently utilize technology to improve processes and create efficiencies
                    • High level of personal integrity, ethics, initiative and strong interpersonal skills
                    • Strong sense of service and passion for service delivery; thrives on change, pace, action and accountability
                    • Broad exposure to all Human resources functions, including culture development, change management, recruiting, employee retention, workforce planning, organizational development, compensation, benefits, training, HRIS and administration
                    • Proven and successful experience leading succession planning, leadership development and diversity initiatives
                    • A problem solver, decision maker and leader in the human resources function.
                    • Possesses an "open door" and approachable attitude to his/her team and peers in the organization
                      Education and Certification:
                      • BS/BA required preferably in Human Resources or related field
                      • Advanced HR certification (i.e. SPHR)
                        Experience:
                        • A minimum of 7-10 years post-designation experience in progressively senior management/leadership positions with proven abilities to provide analysis, advice and recommendations that support effective operational and strategic decision-making throughout the organization
                        • Strong experience and practice application in key HR Functions including workforce planning, succession planning and talent management, talent acquisition and recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development and employee relations and human resources operations PI114372963
