Job Description:
This is a TPD (0.2 Status) variable shift Health Unit
Coordinator/Tele Tech position in the Women's & Children's Nurse
Float Pool department.
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) performs routine administrative
and clerical duties at and around the nursing station, providing
prompt and courteous service to patients, families, physicians,
staff and public alike. Helps monitor and facilitate activities at
nursing station and performs tasks necessary to maintain proper
flow of patient care and related documentation. Acts as
receptionist and must be able to remain professional with a
positive attitude under stressful conditions with multiple demands.
The HUC performs tele-monitoring including monitoring continuous
vital signs of neonatal patients located in the NICU and
communicates changes promptly and accurately to nursing staff to
ensure patient safety.
Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Must have experience in administrative support and or receptionist
duties.
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a stressful environment.
Must have basic computer proficiency and ability to use multi-line
phone system.
Must be proficient in English, verbal and written communication
skills.
Preferred/Desired:
Preferred medical clerical experience and medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, health care patient
records/scheduling/billing/order systems, and/or an electronic
health record system preferred.
