Job Description:
This is a full time (1.0 Status Exempt) day shift Volunteers &
Visitor Services Manager position in the Communications department.
POSITION SUMMARY The Volunteers & Visitor Services Manager is
responsible for the overall supervision of the Communications
Department, Volunteer Services Program, and the Gift Shop. PRIMARY
(ESSENTIAL) DUTIES The hospital front desk operations including
providing/demonstrating excellent customer service and conflict
resolution skills, staffing, scheduling, staff supervision, payroll
and continuous process improvement of front desk procedures. The
gift shop operations including staffing, ordering, pricing,
inventory, maintaining the POS computer and database, paying
invoices, merchandising, payroll deduct reports and supervising
volunteers/employees. Volunteers including recruiting, onboarding,
supervising and recognition. Management of the volunteer services
fund. General leadership responsibilities including monthly
meetings (i.e. code Blue and Workplace Violence), attending
Wednesday leadership meetings, safety huddle and other meetings as
appropriate. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Education: High
School diploma required. Preferred Certification(s): Bachelor's
Degree preferred. Health care experience in Volunteer Services and
3 years of retail experience preferred. Minimum Work Experience:
Combination of 2-3 years health care experience in the volunteer,
credentialing, or human resources areas. Employee supervision
experience. Point of Sale and accounting experience with a high
aptitude for computers. Required Skills: Ability to communicate
effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
representing broad age ranges. Strong organizational skills and
attention to detail. Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and
successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented
environment. Computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite,
as well as the ability to learn additional applications relevant to
the position such as Point of Sale software. On-Call/Weekend
