Job Description:
Description The Nurse navigator's primary function is to
seamlessly guide the patient and family through the health care
system. Activities include providing disease-specific education and
information, referral navigation, sharing knowledge in regard to
treatment options, expediting patient access to diagnostic and
treatment procedures, connecting patients with appropriate
resources, providing ongoing support to patient and family,
responding to patient/family needs and addressing issues of access
to care as part of the navigation team. Providence caregivers are

Navigator’s primary function is to provide direct care to
chemotherapy and infusion patients in the outpatient setting. The
RN has knowledge of oncology, chemotherapy administration, side
effects, infusion therapy, blood product administration, pain
management, knowledge and skills with port-a-caths and all venous
access devices. The RN Navigator applies the nursing process in
direct patient care and coordinates the interdisciplinary team to
intervene according to assessment findings. The RN Navigator
coordinates care for chemotherapy and infusion patients in
collaboration with social work, financial counselors, chaplains,
dietitians, providers, pharmacists, patients, and family members.
Necessary RN skills include assessing, educating, implementing,
evaluating, and coordinating treatment plans. Available
opportunities: - Part-time, 0.8 FTE (32 working hours), day shift
(This is a temporary position) - Part-time, 0.6 FTE (24 working
hours), day shift Required qualifications: - Graduate of an
accredited school of nursing. - Upon hire: Montana Registered Nurse
License - Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart
Association Preferred qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing - 2 years of Med/surg Nursing experience preferred. - 2
years of experience in an Oncology setting - Chemo certification
