Surgical Technician – General Surgery at Providence summary: The Surgical Technician supports general surgery by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting the surgical team, and handling specimens. Candidates must complete surgical tech training, hold national certification, and preferably have one year of OR experience. The primary duties of the Surgical Technician include: being prepared for and knowledgeable of the surgical procedure to be performed, setting up and maintaining a sterile field, assists surgeon as necessary, assists circulating nurse and other members of the surgical team, maintains familiarity, function and proper care of all OR equipment and instruments.
