Surgical Technician – General Surgery at Providence summary: The Surgical Technician assists in general surgery by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the surgical team during procedures. They are responsible for managing surgical instruments, caring for specimens, and ensuring the functionality of all OR equipment. The primary duties of the Surgical Technician include: being prepared for and knowledgeable of the surgical procedure to be performed, setting up and maintaining a sterile field, assists surgeon as necessary, assists circulating nurse and other members of the surgical team, maintains familiarity, function and proper care of all OR equipment and instruments.
