What You ll Do

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care within an established inpatient model
• Deliver care using a hospitalist-style coverage approach (schedule-based rounding/coverage)
• Participate in clinic and call coverage, including weekend night beeper call post-shift
• Manage the inpatient unit caseload in a 12-bed setting
• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients age 12 and older (no peds cases under 12)
• Support coverage needs through a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
• Optionally cover a partial hospital program component during the school year (max 10 patients, as applicable)

What You Need
Required

• Board Certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• DEA required: Yes
• License: Active or IMLC
• Ability to see patients 12 years and older (no pediatric cases under 12)

Additional qualifications accepted / clarified

• May accept Board Certified in Psychiatry with extensive child/adolescent experience and/or recently completed C/A fellowship
• Not accepted: Board Certified in PED (provider will see adult patients as well)

Preferred

• Prior experience in child/adolescent inpatient psychiatric settings (helpful for fitting the coverage model)

About the Assignment
This locum tenens opportunity in Missoula, MT is for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient coverage using a hospitalist model with a 7-on/7-off schedule. Coverage is intended to be long term until a new permanent provider is onboarded, and the unit operates as a 12-bed inpatient setting with care for patients 12 years and older. Weekend coverage includes beeper call following weekend night shifts, with schedule flexibility depending on provider preference (as outlined in the posting).
