Video Production and Graphic Design Coordinator
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is a national nonprofit
organization headquartered in Missoula, Montana. BHA seeks to
ensure North Americas outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a
natural setting through education and work on behalf of wild public
lands, waters and wildlife. Now, more than ever before, we need

BHA prioritizes the production of creative, compelling
multimedia communications to raise our organizational profile,
drive actions in our policy campaigns and define the narrative that
is our relationship with North Americas public lands and waters. As
part of BHAs dynamic communications team, this new position will
work with BHA staff, members and others to tell BHAs story thro ugh
the creation of video content and graphic design.
The person hired for this role must be a skilled storyteller
with outstanding writing and editing skills. The ability to rapidly
gain an understanding of BHA policy issues then communicate those
issues visually, through video or graphic design, is critical.
This position will play a key role in creating communications
materials that raise BHA brand awareness among current members and
supporters, grow member and supporter numbers, and convey BHAs work
t o diverse interests including but not limited to elected
officials and their staffs, the outdoors community and the general
Play a collaborative role in telling the BHA story through
visual media. Take a lead role in i ncreasing the quality and
quantity of BHAs video and graphic content and help leverage this
content to increase awareness of BHA, our work and our members.
Bring creativity and innovation to the production of short video
pieces that promote BHA and our events, educate and drive advocacy
around policy priorities, and spotlight the work of our chapter
leaders and grassroots members.
Apply a keen editing eye to the production of highlight reels of
in-person or virtual events that culminate in a call to action or
Help elevate BHAs YouTube presence, content output and
subscriber numbers, including monetization.
Work with BHA digital media coordinator to enhance BHA social
media content, including producing video and graphic content.
Partner with BHA policy staff to produce video and graphic
content that increases awareness and drives engagement and action
in BHA policy campaigns.
Work with BHA merchandise coordinator to increase sales of BHA
merchandise and improve overall appearance and utility of BHA
Support Backcountry Journal editor in work to enhance and
improve the design of BHAs quarterly print magazine.
Collaborate with communications director to enhance and improve
video and graphic content organization-wide, including BHA website,
reports and brochures, online newsletters, ads and promotional
Experience and familiarity with using DSLR cameras, L A V
microphones and external audio recording devices, and/or other
video and audio recording equipment
Ability to coordinate, produce and deliver quality video
projects under varying limitations of time, resources, and/or
Knowledge of framing, lighting, shooting principles
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere (or other video editing
software) and Adobe After Effects
Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and other
graphic design software
Familiarity with HTML preferred
Ability to write/shoot visual stories/messages
Ability to talk to strangers during interviews
Ability to produce engaging, informative visual concepts via
Basic knowledge of print and digital advertising design
Perform retouching and enhancement of images
Familiarity with sharing media via all social media
Excellent time and project management skills and ability to
multi-task, prioritize work and meet deadlines
Close attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work with a diverse team, including some who work
Flexibility and willingness to contribute to projects outside of
normal job duties
Creative and innovative ideas and vision
College level communications or visual arts education
Physically prepared for field production conditions
Capability to sit at a desk for extended periods working on
computer; must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move
objects weighing up to 25 pounds
V alid drivers license
Hunter or angler preferred
