What You Will Do We are seeking a Public Relations (PR) Manager to
build and manage our public relations (PR) programs for both the
Offroad and Backcountry verticals. One part storyteller, one part
researcher, you’ll develop and execute PR strategies that secure
earned media coverage reaching endemic, regional, and national
audiences and shape the way these audiences understand our products
and our brand. Reporting to the onX PR and Communications Senior
Manager, this role will focus on running an in-house PR program for
the Offroad business, and managing an agency who supports the
Backcountry business. As an onX Public Relations (PR) Manager, your
essential job duties and responsibilities will look like: Media
relations. Manage all in-bound requests and outbound pitching for
the Offroad vertical, building long-term relationships with
journalists and media organizations, creating media lists, as well
as developing and hosting in-person media experiences and events.
For the Backcountry vertical, you’ll be supported by a PR agency to
foster media relationships, host events, and secure coverage in the
human-powered outdoor space. Strategic storytelling. Develop
relationships across the organization to understand key business
strategies and to craft narratives that promote our products,
technology, company brand, access and stewardship initiatives,
customers, and partners. Content creation. Craft written and other
compelling materials to support product and other brand
initiatives. Integrated marketing. Consider the broader marketing
ecosystem and how onX can leverage its PR channel when it comes to
go-to-market campaigns, events, speaking opportunities, award
applications, and more. As a member of a matrix organization,
you’ll collaborate closely with the Product, Growth, Community, and
Paid teams to amplify and execute marketing initiatives.
Spokesperson. Well-spoken and articulate, you’ll be an external
representative for the onX Brand, and support our team of
spokespeople, briefing them for mediated opportunities such as
interviews, speaking opportunities, and other engagements. Industry
Events. You’ll craft and execute PR strategy for important trade
show, consumer, and other off-road industry calendar moments.
Monitor and measure. Monitor industry trends and tap into them,
when relevant. Track media coverage and analyze the efficacy of PR
campaigns and make data-driven adjustments. Crisis communications
and reputation management. You’ll also bring a thoughtful voice and
critical eye to the onX brand, ensuring we identify and evaluate
all outcomes. Passion. A passion for the outdoors, public land
access, and off-roading. What You’ll Bring To be considered for
this position, applicants must submit writing samples along with
their application. Four (4) or more years of proven Public
Relations (PR) experience Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations
(PR), Communications, Journalism or relevant field or in place of a
degree, an additional two (2) or more years of relevant experience
An understanding of PR’s role within a highly integrated marketing
organization An understanding of the evolving offroad, motorsports,
and automotive industries, as well as existing media relationships
and connections in the offroad/motorsports space. Excellent
demonstrable communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
(written, verbal, and visual) Proven success in uncovering
interesting stories, aligning them to business goals, and bringing
them to life via securing media coverage Excellent project
management skills in a fast-paced environment Ability to plan media
events, with attention to every detail Permanent US work
authorization is a condition of employment with onX. A shared
passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values Must be
available for travel up to three times a quarter for multiple days
to attend events, host media, and join the onX team at a corporate
office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp. Added

office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”. Corporate Offices: onX was
founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you
prefer to work in an office at least part of the time, this is a
great option. Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual
workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team
members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the
following: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN;
Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA. Connection Hubs:
onX’s Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of
distributed team members. Our current Connection Hubs are located
within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston,
SC; Charlotte, NC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond,
VA; Spokane, WA; the Bay Area of California, and Vermont. How
You’ll Be Compensated onX is committed to compensating all
employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this
position, applicants can expect to make between $90,000 to $106,000
upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills,
certifications, and education among other factors as required in
the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are
eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting
schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company
