Job Description:
This is a full time (0.8 - 1.0 Status) day shift Medical Courier
position in the Transport department. Picks up and delivers medical
specimens and packages for laboratory. Ensures timely, safe, and
accurate delivery. Responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle.
Adheres to safe work practices and appropriate infection control
practices. Minimum Required:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be licensed to operate a vehicle.
- Must have a satisfactory driving record not to include more
than 3 moving violations in a year and no DUIs.
- Experience driving in all types of extreme weather.
- Must be able to drive during night and day hours.
- Basic Math and computer skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent Customer service attitude and skills.
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and appropriately
prioritize multiple demands.
- Available, accessible and amenable to working different shift
assignments as needed.
- Meets all criteria (at all times) required for operating CMC
vehicles.
- Experience with transport of specimens, pharmacy, and related
materials to/from customer and appropriate departments in a
friendly and timely manner.
- Ability to sort mail and other items as needed and make
deliveries of equipment or other items as needed.
- Adheres to safe work practices and appropriate infection
control practices.
- Collects information about transport as needed and records
activities as directed for operational improvements.
- Ability to drive and or walk on Lab and other service support
routes as needed.
- Supports printing department as assigned.
- Good time management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
